Centurion Club etched its name in golf history by hosting the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational in 2022, a groundbreaking event that introduced a fresh format to the sport. The tournament, featuring shotgun starts, team and individual competitions, and a focus on fan engagement, attracted global attention.
Following its remarkable success in 2022, the event returned to Centurion Club in 2023, delivering an even more elevated experience. The course buzzed with energy as enthusiastic spectators gathered to witness world-class golf and immerse themselves in the festival-like atmosphere. Fans enjoyed not only the thrilling competition but also a variety of food and drink stations, live music performances, and interactive fan zones. The tournament featured an elite roster of the game’s biggest stars, including Bryson DeChambeau, Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, and Ian Poulter, who showcased their skills on our pristine fairways and greens.
About LIV Golf
LIV Golf London is part of the LIV Golf League, a professional golf tournament series founded in 2021 by LIV Golf Investments. Spearheaded by major champion, Hall of Fame member and former world number 1 golfer, Greg Norman, the series aims to innovate and challenge traditional golf structures by introducing shorter formats, larger prize pools, and team-based competition. LIV Golf adopts a format of 54-hole tournaments (hence “LIV,” the Roman numeral for 54), shotgun starts and no cuts, allowing all players to compete across three days. The event emphasises entertainment, fast-paced play, and fan engagement, diverging from the traditional 72-hole PGA Tour model.

From June 9–11 2022, Centurion Club hosted the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series event, marking a historic moment for professional golf and the Club itself. Featuring a star-studded field, the tournament included some of golf’s most recognisable names, such as Dustin Johnson, Sergio García, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Louis Oosthuizen, and Phil Mickelson, who competed over three thrilling days of 54-hole, no-cut golf. Beyond the action on the course, the event created a festival-like atmosphere with vibrant fan zones offering interactive experiences, food, and merchandise. Live entertainment involved performances from Jessie J, James Bay, James Morrison, Craig David and John Newman, adding to the energy and appeal of the occasion. With the eyes of the world on Centurion Club, this innovative event seamlessly blended elite sports and entertainment, redefining the golf experience.

Individual & Team Winners
Charl Schwartzel won the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational London at Centurion Club, finishing at 7 under par, one stroke ahead of compatriot Hennie du Plessis. In the team competition, Stinger GC comprising Schwartzel, captain Louis Oosthuizen, Hennie du Plessis, and Branden Grace, secured a dominant victory with a combined score of 20 under par, finishing 14 strokes ahead of Crushers GC.

Individual & Team Winners
Australian golfer Cam Smith clinched the individual title at the LIV Golf London event in July 2023, finishing at 15 under par. He narrowly edged out American Patrick Reed and fellow Australian Marc Leishman, who both finished one stroke behind. In the team competition, Reed’s 4Aces GC secured victory with a combined score of 34 under par, surpassing Smith’s Ripper GC by a single stroke.
